Dear Mr. McKnight:

I am a direct descendant (great-great-great-great-grandson) of Confederate veteran, Leonard Hines, also known as Leroy Leonard Hines. He was born in 1848 and died in 1929 and lived his entire life in Holmes County, Mississippi. The Holmes County historical page lists Leonard Hines as a veteran of the 16th Mississippi Confederate Calvary. But he is not listed on any of the rosters on your website. I have no reason to doubt Holmes County's records, unless he joined the army too late (he was only 17 at war's end) to be counted.

Just for genealogical info, his parents were Harrison Hall Hines and wife Mary S. Hines, both born in South Carolina.

Please restore Leonard Hines to his rightful place among Confederate veterans. Thank you.

Kevin Thompson
